Power Dynamos Football Club (PDFC) bounced back from their recent slump, defeating Indeni Football Club 3-1 in a thrilling Week 20 Zambia Premier League fixture at Arthur Davies Stadium played on Saturday, January 18, 2025.

The win marked a triumphant return to form for the Kitwe-based team, which paid tribute to their late founder, Kaira, with a moment of silence before the start of the match, in addition to wearing yellow t-shirts with his picture printed on them as they moved from the dressing room to the pitch.

First-half goals from Eddy Ishmael Ankobo in the 34th minute and Fredrick Mulambia in the 43rd minute set the pace for Power’s dominant performance.

Indeni FC’s Simon Mwenya pulled a goal back in the 55th minute with a well-taken free header, threatening to spark a comeback. However, Power’s captain, Prince Mumba, won a penalty in the 63rd minute, with new signing Titus Chansa expertly converting to seal the win, open his Power account, and elevate his season tally to 10 goals.

At the end of the second half, Coach Osward Mutapa made strategic substitutions to protect Power’s 3-1 lead, introducing Moses Phiri, Kapembwa Musonda, Kondwani Chiboni, Salulani Phiri, and Jericho Mwila into the fray.

The win propels Power to 5th position on the log standings after 20 games, four points behind league leaders Kabwe Warriors.

Power Dynamos will face Forest Rangers FC in Ndola on January 25, 2025, in Week 21.
