In a disappointing turn of events, Power Dynamos Football Club has failed to secure a spot in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) championship, despite a 1-0 victory against Mufulira Wanderers in their week 33 fixture played at home on Saturday, May 25, 2024.
Power has accrued a total of 55 points so far, and they have an opportunity to accumulate only three more points in their next and final match of the season against NAPSA Stars.
However, this still falls short of Zesco’s current 59 points, while the league champions Red Arrows currently boast an impressive 68 points.
Power has secured victory in 14 games, settled for a draw in 13, and suffered defeat in six.
The team will face NAPSA Stars, who are looking to avoid relegation, on Saturday, June 1, 2024.
With other teams still vying for third and fourth place, only time will tell if Power will finish the league in third place.
