Power Draw at Home in Week 25

The week 25 match between Power Dynamos and Kabwe Warriors on Saturday, March 16, 2024, ended in a stalemate despite several exciting goal-scoring opportunities.

Aba Yellow’s long and short passes were outstanding in the first half, but the Warriors’ backline prevented them from scoring.

An excellent cross from Captain Godfrey Ngwenya found Boyeli in the box, but he missed it, and the ball went out for a corner kick.

The visitors had some good attacking opportunities, but their opponents’ defence was equally strong, making it hard for them to score.

Coach Mutapa added Joshua Mutale and Moses Phiri a few minutes into the second half to try to turnaround the game.

Phiri’s notable contribution saw him pouncing on a loose ball after Ngokene had completely missed, enabling Phiri to send a cheeky lofted shot inches wide.

Later in the game, another chance fell to Boyeli, who missed the post.

A dramatic moment was recorded when a series of shorts ended up hitting the crossbar in a very unbelievable circumstance.

Warriors’ Kabaso Chongo took out Moses Phiri with a brutal challenge, resulting in him being red carded.

Power Dynamos maintain their third position on the league table with a total of 44 points.

Their upcoming match will be away in Lusaka on March 31, 2024, where they will play against Zanaco Football Club after the international break.
