Power Dynamos Football Club (PDFC) secured their fourth consecutive victory after defeating Lumwana Radiants 2-0 in Lumwana on Saturday, November 2, 2024.

The home team started off with intensity, missing out on two golden opportunities.

Later in the first half, a long-range attempt by Austin Muwowo for Power Dynamos that resulted in a goal sparked debate when it was ultimately disallowed.

At halftime, Coach Osward Mutapa introduced Ismael Eddy Ankobo, replacing Moses Phiri.

Power’s first goal came in the 64th minute through Owen Tembo, who broke the deadlock with a magnificent long shot.

Later, Lumwana’s Garry Mwelwa showcased some impressive flashes of skill, but Lawrence Mulenga’s decisive saves denied him.

After 90 minutes, Power sealed the win through Ankobo, who skillfully manoeuvered past Lumwana’s defenders to net a second goal for the ‘Yellow Submarine.’

In a post-match interview, Coach Osward Mutapa thanked his players for the unrelenting fight exhibited during the match, emphasising the importance of team unity, which he said was essential for the team’s success.

Power has ascended to the second spot on the league table with 19 points, just two points behind ZESCO United, who lead with 21 points.

Power Dynamos will face Mutondo Stars on Sunday, November 10, 2024, in their week 11 fixture at Arthur Davies Stadium.
